‘”Curiouser and curiouser!” cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English).’
For inquisitive minds and the grammatically incorrect, this fantastic Alice in Wonderland quote is perfect for those with a sense of wonder about the world and all its weirdness. In hand drawn, hand cut stencil in a deep inky blue.
Soft, high quality 100% organic cotton rolled sleeve t-shirt. With ‘Curiouser and Curiouser’ design in dark inky blue on front and Lost Shapes logo on back. Available in grey melange in sizes small, medium and large (or try the men’s roll sleeve t-shirt for larger sizes). Please check your size against the chart in images.
LOST SHAPES screen prints are all hand made by me in Wiltshire, UK. Designs are deliberately simple and not-quite-perfect for a confident, retro look. Hand cut stencils, and hand pulled prints give an artisan quality, and the choice of a water-based ink with intense pigments means the prints really sink into the fabric and have a depth that isn’t found in most mass-produced gear.
Ethics are a really important part of the business. My t-shirts are from the EarthPositive range by Continental Clothing: EarthPositive Apparel is 100% organic, fair wear certified with 90% Reduced CO2 – they really are working hard to earn their many ethical and environmental awards.
All ink is 100% solvent free, and water-based, making prints safe for users and the environment
LOST SHAPES is thoughtful, creative design, with an honest upbringing of wholesome crafts, having a good time in the party world of fashion.
Lost Shapes makes quirky and original t-shirts, sweatshirts and other clothing with artisan quality production. Designs are deliberately simple and not-quite-perfect for a confident, retro look.
Every stencil is hand drawn, hand cut, and hand screen printed by Anna Brindle in the Lost Shapes studio, creating shapes and silhouettes with real warmth and impact. The choice of a water-based ink with intense pigments means the prints really sink into the fabric, giving a depth that isn’t found in most mass-produced gear.
THE ETHICS: FASHION IS A DIRTY BUSINESS
I wouldn’t have started this business if I couldn’t find decent suppliers of organic, environmentally friendly, fairly traded products to print on. There are plenty of low quality, chemically blasted t-shirts being churned out by exploited workers already, thank you.
Most of the Lost Shapes t-shirts and sweatshirts are from the EarthPositive range by Continental Clothing: EarthPositive Apparel is 100% organic with 90% Reduced CO2, and Fair war Foundation approved – they really are working hard to deserve their many ethical and environmental awards. I also print on Continental Clothing’s Salvage range – sweatshirts and t-shirts made from recycled organic cotton and recycled polyester – and some of their tencel tops made from eucalyptus fibre. Others are produced by Stanley and Stella clothing, who use only Fair Wear certified organic cotton, or other sustainable fabrics such as tencel or recycled polyester. All fabric used for banners is either organic cotton, linen, or upcycled previously used fabrics.
The ink I use does not contain CFC’s, HCFC’s, aromatic hydrocarbons, volatile solvents, lead, heavy metals or any toxic chemicals whatsoever, and is suitable for vegans. I do not use photo emulsions for our screens, avoiding the need for solvents in the cleaning process.
Very little power is needed in the world of Lost Shapes, as all drawing, stencil creation and printing is done by hand. All electricity consumed is provided by Ecotricity, so 100% renewable.
I hope to see a day when these standards will be everyone’s standards, and Lost Shapes joins in campaigns for better treatment of garment workers and cotton producers.

Every Lost Shapes top is hand printed with care, sometimes especially for you. Please allow up to 3-5 working days for dispatch, though when possible I will always post sooner. I use Royal Mail for reliable shipping. Approx delivery times, once dispatched: Within the UK - 1 day; Within Europe - 3-5 working days; Everywhere else - 5-7 working days. Please note that if you are outside the EU it is possibly that your country will add a custom charge - unfortunately I can't do anything about this, though I usually find the clear details and compact packaging I use makes this unlikely.
You can return your purchase up to 14 days after you have received it, and item cost plus initial delivery charge will be refunded, or an exchange sent to you. Return shipping will only be refunded if there was a problem with the item. As with any hand made art, product will vary slightly from the photo; very slight imperfections are to be expected, but I won't send out anything sub-standard. Returns should be sent to: Anna Brindle, Lost Shapes, 31 Fruitfields Close, Devizes, SN10 5JY, UK, and accompanied by an email to LostShapes@lostshapes.com giving details of return. Telephone enquiries to 01380 721441, but please note that this is a family business run from home and I may not always be available.
